2nd August 2010 - Jack wins Kartmasters Rotax Max GP Plate and driver of the event.
Jack Hawksworth Kartmasters GP Rotax Max winner 2010An ecstatic Jack Hawksworth produced a commanding performance last weekend to lift the prestigious 2010 Kartmasters laurels – a result that he confessed was unbelievable given he had only sat in the kart for the first time a week earlier, and one that earned him the coveted Driver of the Event award for good measure.

“I'm ecstatic – it's just unbelievable, a great victory! This has to be right up there as one of my best results. It's my first major win since the Margutti Trophy in 2009 – it's been a year-and-a-bit, but it's been worth the wait! Considering I don't normally race in Senior Max and that I'd had only two days testing in the kart beforehand, to go and win against the cream of the crop is just so special.”

30th May 2010 - Jack takes a superb 2nd place at Oschersleben in the KZ2 German Championship
Maddox and Iame found some real form at the 3rd round of the German KZ2 championships in Oschersleben, Germany this weekend. Following problems in qualifying which left Jack only able to complete 2 laps of the session, Jack made an excellent recovery in the heats, having started from the very back of the field Jack finished 7th and 13th respectivly showing some real pace. The pre-final was wet and Jack was able to progress further taking a well earned 3rd place finish.

The weather cleared up for the final and Jack was able to capitalise on his grid 3 start and finished an excellent 2nd behind Manuel Renaudie. Progress has definately been made and Jack is looking forward to the final round of the WSK championship in Sarno next weekend.

19th April 2010 - Two solid 5th places at the 3rd round of the WSK in Zuera
Having struggled in qualifying Jack was keen to make amends in the heats and finished 7th and 8th respectively putting him on grid 9 for the for the pre-final.

Zuera is a power circuit and the team are definitely making progress with the performance of the new Parilla engine and Maddox chassis to finish in the top 5 on a dry track. An excellent weekend all round and the reward a brace of 5th places in the KZ1 finals.

The only other problem of course is getting home!

11th April 2010 - Stunning 2nd place in the first round of the KZ1 European CIK FIA Championship.
After 2 good heat results and a mechanical failure in the 3rd heat Jack had it all to do in the first final at Sarno in Italy starting from grid 13. The heavens opened half an hour before the race and instead of struggling with power down the 1km straight at Sarno it was game on and Jack duly delivered with a great drive finishing 2nd overall behind Jérémy Iglesias.

It was dry for the second final and a lack of outright power compared to the Tech Sav tuned engines proved a little more difficult. However Jack secured a solid 9th overall.

The combined points from both rounds puts Jack 3rd overall in the KZ1 European CIK FIA championship at the half way point.

21st March 2010 - Jack takes a podium for the PDB Racing Team at the 2010 Andrea Margutti Trophy
After a 4 days dry testing it poured down for the finals of the 2010 KZ2 Andrea Margutti Trophy. Having been very quick all week in the dry Jack was just a touch disappointed this morning to be faced with such wet conditions. However a very spirited drive saw Jack finish the pre-final in 3rd and then go one better in the final to finish 2nd behind the German driver Simon Solgat.

After some very successful dry weather practice this week Jack is confident that the Maddox/Parilla package will be closer to the pace at the 2nd round of the WSK championship in Lonato next weekend and is looking forward to the challenge.

A quick thankyou to all the guys from PDB and IAME, Thomas Duggan and Michael Simpson for all there hard work to make this result possible!

10th March 2010 - Jack struggles for pace on the new Parilla at WSK opener
Jack struggled for pace last weekend at the opening round of the WSK in La Conca, Italy. Running the brand new Parilla KZ1 engine in race conditions for the first time was always going to be challenging and although the Maddox/Parilla combination was only 0.5 sec a lap off in the final, at this level that is a fairly serious disadvantage that can't be compensated for and effectively meant any chance of a better finish in either final was out of the question. Jack finished 11th in both the pre-final and final, full race report to follow.

Having now established just where the goal posts are both the Parilla factory and PBD Racing will be working hard to improve the performance with various upgrades to come over the next few race meetings.

31st January 2010 - Michael Simpson, British Formula A Karting Champion to join Jack in 2010 campaign
Jack is very pleased to confirm that Michael Simpson, British Formula A Karting Champion will be working with Jack throughout the 2010 season as his his mechanic and mentor within the PDB team.

Jack is really pleased to have Michael on board and is sure that Michael’s experience both as a driver and mechanic will pay big dividends in the season ahead.

30th December 2009 - Jack rejoins PDB Racing for 2010 season
Jack is pleased to announce his return to the PDB Racing team for the 2010 season. Jack will be stepping upto the premier KZ1 class in 2010 and will be driving the new Peter De Brune designed KZ Maddox chassis powered by the all new IAME KZ engine.

Having already completed excellent pre-season tests with both the Maddox chassis and Iame factory engines Jack is very pleased with the progress so far and is very much looking forward to racing for PDB in 2010.

6th September 2009 - 2009 CIK-FIA WORLD CUP (Sarno, Italy) KZ1
In what Jack described as the most competitive race meeting of the year Jack was really pleased to have finished a solid 13th in the grand final from an entry of 76 of the worlds best drivers.

This was from 25th on the grid after an engine failure in the pre-final within sight of the checkered flag robbed Jack of a better starting grid for the main final.

We are all very proud of Jack, 13th overall at the karting world championships in the premier KZ1 class at 18 is quite some achievement.

Practice starts today in Italy for the singular most prestigious kart racing event of the year. The CIK KZ1 World Cup has over 70 entries in 2009 including at least one current formula 1 driver. Jack is very excited about the event and is confident that both himself and the Energy Corse Team have prepared well to take on the the very best in the world. For the first time in 2009 all the drivers in this years KZ1 class will be carrying on board cameras on there karts to help with adjudication and post race analysis.

23rd August 2009 - Mid summer break and now back to German KZ2 champs
With nothing much happening in the month of July in the KZ class Jack has been doing some racing in the UK in the Senior Rotax class, Kartmasters being his first meeting back and with no dry testing on a brand new chassis it really was a baptism of fire but having got through his heats Jack qualified 5th for the pre-final and even though the chassis setup was not quite right managed a 7th in the race. The final was another story with the PFI first hairpin taking its usual toll and a resulting DNF for Jack as he watched his friend Luke Varley take the title from the track side. Shame since after only four dry sessions they had finally nailed the dry setup for the final.

The following weekend was Shennington with all the top teams there in the run up to the British O Plate with the chassis now sorted Jack was very quick and set the fastest lap of the weekend in what was a very good shake down for the O plate, a race in which Jack will be competing in September.

Back to Germany this weekend for the last round of the German championships at Hunsrück and as I write this I can tell you after a DNF in one of his heats Jack started the pre-final from 15th and has just finished 5th.

The final is a long race over 18 laps and starting from 5th will give Jack every opportunity to race for a good result and hopefully a podium

29th June 2009 - Promising start but problems in the finals at European Champs
After a great start and leading the first final for 14 laps Jack had a coming together with the 2nd place man and pre-event championship leader Hajek in a fairly big crash involving all of them and resulting in Jacks exclusion from the first final results.

Starting from last in the second final Jack came through to finish 15th but it didn't really provide the result to the weekend everyone had hoped for. Jacks next race is this coming weekend in Germany and is a round of the German KZ2 champs, hopefully things will go a little bit better, surely it must be time for lady luck to smile in Jacks direction. Jack and the Energy Corse Team have been extremely fast this season but have had some real mountains to climb in terms of turning their speed and skill into race victories. The European Championships have been especially difficult when contested over just two rounds making it hard to counter a bad result in any of the races. This weekend was only ever about winning and anything else was never going to be good enough.

10th June 2009 - German ADAC championship (round 3) - Ampfing Germany
Last weekend Jack raced in the 3rd round of the German ADAC championship for the German Energy importer Jedi Racing. Throughout dry practice Jack had been extremely quick and between 2 to 3 tenths quicker than his competitors. Just prior to qualifying the heavens opened and Jack qualified 3rd overall. Jack finished 2nd in both finals but both the team and Jack were puzzled by their lack of pace in the main events. One new set of slicks for the finals and they lost just under a second a lap in terms of outright speed, they can only put it down to a bad set of tyres as everyone else maintained there pace from practice.

Jedi Racing TeamJack would like to thank Jedi Racing for there hard work and hospitality
and he looks forward to working with them again in the future.

Jack is now looking forward to the 2nd round of the WSK which is in Genk this weekend. The KZ2 race is a who’s who of karting with all the factory teams and top drivers in attendance. All the indications are that Jack will be rapid and challenging for a podium.

1st June 2009 - Win in first final at Wackersdorf - German KZ2 championship
Jack Hawksworth at Wackersdorf KZ2 German championship May 2009Jack Hawksworth at Wackersdorf KZ2 German championship May 2009 After three heats Jack started the first final in Wackersdorf from 4th on the grid, the kart was really good and the Jack and the team took victory by over 5 seconds. The second final was to be a different story after Jack was pushed on at the first hairpin on lap four. Re-joining practically last Jack finished 16th after after fighting back through the field which was a disappointment after winning the first final, the only conciliation being that they were very fast throughout the second final and would have had another good result had it not been for the incident. Still that's racing!

29th May 2009 - Back to Wackersdorf for the 2nd round of the German KZ2 championship
This weekend Jack is competing in the second round of the German KZ2 championship at Wackersdorf in Germany. After some rather cruel luck in the first round after failing to finish the final Jack is hoping to make amends this weekend with a good result. Although the web site has been quiet for the last few weeks Jack has been busy testing with the Energy Corse team and Rizzi the engine tuner. The tests have been very good and if the levels of performance can be mirrored this weekend then Jack and the team should be in a very strong position to fight for the win.

Having spoken to Jack briefly today testing today went very well and they are looking forward to qualifying in the morning.

19th April 2009 - European KZ2 championship - Sunday update not quite what we were looking for!
Starting of grid four for the first final of the day, Jack finished in fourth position overall, not a brilliant start but a good solid performance in the first final and chance to improve the kart setup for the second final.

Jacks hopes were better for the second final of the day but things were not to work out this way. Within 2 laps Jack was into 3rd but was pushed on at the first hairpin onto the grass. Having rejoined the circuit Jack was then passed by more karts as he struggled on the dirty tyres at the next corner pushing him down to 17th, in the circumstances the best Jack could do was climb back to finish 11th overall.

Jack is now in 6th place in the KZ2 European championship, not the start either Jack or the team had hoped for but you can’t win everything! Jack and the Energy Corse team are positive and will now regroup and focus there efforts the first round of the KZ2 German championship which is next weekend.

Congratulations to the British driver Jason Parrott who won the second final at La Conca in the SKF/KF1 class.

European KZ2 championship 2009 La Conca Jack Hawksworth

Having completed four of the five heats, Jack finished 2nd in three of the heats and 3rd in the fourth setting three fastest laps in the process, with one heat to go on Sunday morning Jack is hopeful of another good finish to secure a good grid slot for Sundays finals.

22nd March 2009 - Jack wins the prestigious KZ2 Margutti Cup

Going off 2 for the final Jack gained the lead early on and after 20 hard fought laps claimed victory from Anthony Abbasse in 2nd and Renaudie Manuel in 3rd.

Jack was delighted with this second victory of the year and expressed his gratitude to everybody that had made it possible, special thanks of course go to the Energy Corse Factory Team and tuner Rizzi who did a fantastic job all weekend.

21st March 2009 - Jack on 3 for pre-final at Margutti cup
After a 2nd and a 3rd in the heats Jack starts on grid 3 for the KZ2 pre-final tomorrow.
8th March 2009 - 2nd in Pre-final but mechanical woes in final
Jack qualified 2nd for the pre-final after 3 really good heats, the pre-final was very competitive and after a hard race Jack finished a well deserved 2nd overall.

Starting on P2 for the final Jack was in 2nd 10 laps in with a good gap to 3rd and chasing down Bas Lammers who was leading with just five laps to go. However lady luck was to play her part and on lap 10 Jacks kart lost drive and he was forced to pull over.

Not the ideal end to the first big race of the season but on a positive note Jack took the fight to the best karters in the world and proved he will be a big contender in 2009.

3rd March 2009 - Jack arrives in Naples for the first round of the WSK
The web site may have been quiet over the last few weeks but Jack certainly hasn't been. Unable to attend the 2nd round of the US Florida Winter Tour due to testing commitments with the Energy factory team. Jack has been busy preparing for the first big meeting of the year. Not forgetting a quick birthday celebration to mark Jack's 18th on the 28th Feb.

Testing culminated in Garda last week with two very successful days of testing, the first working with engine tuner Rizzi and the second working with his mechanic on the Energy Corse chassis.

This weekend's first round of the WSK in Sarno marks the start of a very busy season and the entry list for the 2009 KZ2 championship reads like a who's who of karting with every factory team in attendance and all fielding two or three top drivers.

Jack's preparation has been good and after a maiden win at the first round of the Florida Winter Tour with the Energy team he is confident that both he and the team can meet the challenge.

19th January 2009 - Jack celebrates his first victory for Energy with wins at Homestead Raceway in Miami
Jacks first race meeting for Energy Corsa and his first visit to the US was a great success.

In round one of the Florida Winter Tour on Saturday Jack qualified 2nd and finished 2nd in both the pre-final and final after suffering with clutch problems that resulted in him losing places on both starts, never the less Jack set fastest lap times in both finals.

Sunday and round two with the clutch problems sorted, Jack took pole by 2 tenths from Alex Speed and then went on to win the pre-final and final with fastest laps in every race.

What a great opener to the season! Full race report by Jack to follow when he gets back to the UK on Wednesday.

14th January 2009 - Jack lands in USA and starts testing tomorrow at Homestead
After flying into Italy on Monday to meet his Swedish mechanic Mathias, Jack flew out to the states on Tuesday to get ready for the first round of the Florida Winter Tour. Jack will be competing in the pro shifter class on SyarMotorsport ENERGY Kinetic ICC. SyarMotorsport are the US distributor for the Italian made Energy Corse chassis.

This will be Jacks first race meeting for the Italian Energy Corse factory team. Winter testing here in the UK has gone well and Jack is very pleased with the performance of the Energy Corse chassis.

The Energy team like Jack has a strong desire to win and has shown great professionalism in it's approach to the coming season. Confidence is high and pre-season preparation has been good!

  • 12th November 2008 - Hawksworth to Energy Corse for 2009!
British racing driver Jack Hawksworth has signed for the Energy Corse Factory Racing team for the 2009 season.
Hawksworth visited the factory before a deal was struck for Jack to race for the Energy team in the KZ1 World Cup, KZ2 WSK Series, KZ2 European Championship and KZ2 German Championship in the 2009 season.

“First of all id just like to say thank you to the PDB Racing team and Gillard racing karts. It has been an honour to race for you this year, you guys are a superb. I have decided to move to the Energy Corse team in 2009 however as I see it as a new chapter and another step in my career.

I'm very much looking forward to working with my new team and driving the Energy Chassis and Rizzi engines for the first time. I hope we can make a strong team and challenge for wins and championships.”

A full calendar for Jack’s 2009 season will be available shortly. More news to follow…

9th September 2008 - Varennes - the last round of the European KZ2 Championship
CIK-FIA KZ2 European Championships Round 3, race 1 - Verennes, France Jack finished 3rd in the first final of the weekend with a blistering performance from 11th on the grid, showing a level of pace and skill that left him the sure favourite for race two. True to his previous performance Jack was in the lead of race two by lap three before being punted squarely off the circuit by one of his rivals.

Throughout the weekend Jack made maybe fifty passes without once removing another competitor from the track or even hampering their race. Having been deliberately removed from the race at round 2 in Mariemburg it is hard to know whether this was a pre-thought manoeuvre or just demonstrated a total lack of ability by the other championship contenders when faced with a driver that they can't compete with on the track.

One thing is for sure Jack showed a level of skill and class that completely outshone his competition this weekend and has clearly demonstrated he is ready to move up into KZ1 in 2009. Click here to read Jacks take on the weekends events.

23rd July 2008 – 40 degrees, a mile long circuit and the best drivers in the world...
In what must be described as one of the hardest race meetings so far the 3rd round of the WSK championship in Sarno had everything. With average temperatures of nearly 40 degrees the Sarno circuit is just over a mile long and nestles in the foothills below Mount Vesuvius. It is an extremely challenging track with over 15 bends and average lap times in excess of one minute. The whole field was simply a class act with a star studded line up of the very best KZ1 drivers in the world, Ardigo, Thonon, Fore, Manetti to mention just a few, this was always going to be tough!

After a challenging few days of finding the right kart set-up Jack was very quick in the final posting a lap time just 2 tenths slower than race winner Marco Ardigo, Jack finished 11th overall in the final and well ahead his regular KZ2 competitors. Click here to read full race report.

3rd July 2008 - Hawksworth “We must be on the podium in Sarno”
British karting star Jack Hawksworth says he is confident of a podium placing at the forthcoming WSK round in Sarno. The English pilot who suffered a massive disappointment in the European Championship last weekend when he was deliberately taken out of the race by the Energy racing team when he was in the hunt for victory, is aiming to bounce back with a best performance yet at Sarno in under 3 weeks.
Jack had a troubled last round at the WSK after qualifying problems meant he would start on grid 30 for race 1. He showed his pace in the final though when he charged through to 12th taking the 6th quickest lap of the race in the process on a circuit he had never seen before. “Last weekend was really disappointing. We were quick all weekend on a track that didn’t really suit the chassis but despite this I still believe we had the pace to take the win in both Race 1 and Race 2 as the heat results showed. Unfortunately things happened out of our control and now we must focus on delivering a strong result in Sarno. There is no reason why this can’t be possible. The chassis has been good on the Vega white tires (the tires used for the WSK) and we recently won the third round of the German championship on these tires against strong opposition like Dreezen and Lammers.
I will also have the advantage of testing at the circuit before the event which should help me learn the circuit and nail the set-up before arrival at the event. I will concentrate on my fitness over the next few weeks to make sure I am fit enough to handle the high temperatures which will be assured in Italy. Taking this all in to account I will be right at the sharp end. Obviously it will be impossible in normal circumstances to beat Thonon and Ardigo because at the minute they are too strong but I think I can certainly come away with the 3rd position and who knows, impossible is nothing so we will just have to push hard and hopefully reap the rewards!”

Jack is back in action next week testing at Lonato and Sarno in preparation for the WSK.

15th June 2008 - Jacks scores an awesome double victory in the German KZ2 championship
This was Jacks first visit to the race track in Ampfing. Friday testing went well followed by a strong qualifying session in which he qualified 5th overall, just 3 tenths of Rick Dreezen and only a tenth of the 2nd place man. This meant he would start his two heats on the second row, a third position was hard won in the first heat after being pushed on at one of the hairpins and then a good solid 2nd in his last heat meant he would line up 4th for the finals.

In the sprint race or first final Jack got away really well and managed to take victory from Rick Dreezen by just a few tenths.

In the second final it was very much the same story with Bas Lammers in close attendance in 3rd, and after a hard fought 25 lap race Jack emerged the victor. A great win and a credit to Jack, the PDB team , AFR engines and Ian who has been Jacks mechanic for the weekend.

11th June 2008 – Belgium last weekend and Germany the next!
Jack will be travelling to Germany this weekend to compete in the 3rd round of the German KZ2 championship once again with the PDB racing team. Competition will be tough as always as the German championship fields one of the strongest shifter kart entries in Europe.

The race meeting is held at Ampfing which is another new track for Jack, hopefully the weather will be more settled than last weekend and the work we have been putting in recently with the chassis and engines will pay dividends with a good result.

18th April 2008 - Hawksworth eyes step forward in Angerville
Jack Hawksworth believes that he and the PDB Racing team will take a big step forward at first round of the KZ2 European Championships in 2 weeks time.

After a successful start to the season Hawksworth has established himself as front runner but he now believes he can realistically challenge for the podium and even victory. Hawksworth believes the first round of the KZ2 Euros will be his best chance yet to challenge for victory. Hawksworth grabbed a 7th and 11th at the first round of the WSK but believes that the kart will be much better at the first round of the European Championship.
“Progress has been made and we now find ourselves much closer to the pace. We have a few issues on the engine side to sort out but hopefully we will have solved these before the European Champs. If we can do this then I am confident that we can really go for the win this time. For sure we have been on the edge of the top 4 or 5 for a while now but I believe we are now ready to take that step forward and challenging the top guys, in Angerville we will be shaking things up! For sure there is going to be some tough competition. Joey Hanssen and the AVG Racing team are for sure looking very strong at the moment and will be confident at this circuit. The good thing for me and the team is that we know that we can beat them and with the improvements coming before Angerville I think we can hold our heads high and say the win is there for us to take. We can win this race”

    Jack Hawksworth

8th April 2008 - Hawksworth to race in Germany this weekend
PDB Racing driver Jack Hawksworth announced today that he will race in the first round of the German KZ1 championship this weekend at Kerpen. After making a more than impressive debut against the world’s best last weekend in France Jack will take part in the first round and use the extra track time to develop the engine and chassis as he and the team look to build on there positive start to the season.

“After the meeting in France we realised where we were weak and needed to improve. We can now work on these aspects and hopefully develop the package further for the next big race. This weekend gives us the ideal chance to do that as we will be up against some of our main competition from the WSK and European championships this will enable us to see if we have made any progress. After the strong start to the season it is Important that we keep pushing and climb into the top 3 as quickly as possible so that we can mount as serious championship fight. For sure we need to aim for the win this weekend and if that is not possible at least be on the podium.”

18th February 2008 - Hawksworth starts 2008 with race win.
Jack Hawksworth got his 2008 season off to a winning start at Shenington this weekend after seeing off some of Britain best drivers as he dominated the meeting.

Hawksworth won the first heat followed by a crash in the second heat. Starting 12th on the grid for the final he quickly made his way through the pack to eventually win by 1.5 seconds taking the flag ahead of Sam Moore and James Mudd.

"The kart was superb all weekend and it just shows what hard work can achieve. After 4th at the Winter Cup in Germany it was great to come back to the UK and win. The Gillard/TM package was great all weekend but I expect to make some big steps forward before the first round of the WSK Championship. So far it is all going to plan and we are learning more about the package every day. Next on the agenda is the Winter Cup in Germany on March 2nd and I can only have one aim for this event and that is to win and be the fastest."

After the Winter Cup Jack's next outing is most likely to be testing at either Angerville or Mariembourg.

A full report for the Shenington Race Meeting to follow.

24th January 2008 - Hawksworth to test in Genk
Jack will get his 2008 campaign started this Friday when he will begin testing at the Genk circuit in Belgium. Jack has complete four days in the kart since Christmas at Whilton Mill, GYG and Hooton Park but this will be his first real test of 2008.

“I've had a quite winter period up to now so I can't wait to get back on the circuit and start learning about the new tires and grip levels. It's a different game altogether in Europe to the United Kingdom and the driving style and set-up of the kart are so different. It is important that we prepare well for the challenges ahead.”

9th January 2008 - Hawksworth ready to hit the track.
After a short winter break since his 4th place at the German Winter Cup Jack says he’s now eager to get back on the circuit and begin pre season testing in the build up to the first round of the WSK Championship in April. Both the WSK Championship and European Championship kick off in April and the PDB Racing driver is looking forward to getting back in his Gillard KZ2 kart in the next week. “I'm looking forward to getting back out on the track. I’ve had a decent break over winter and I now feel refreshed and ready to go again. I have spent a 3 or 4 days over the last few weeks helping a Mini Max driver called Andy King and watching him go round has given me a real kick to get back out there. I'm really looking forward to what should be an exciting season and a great opportunity for me!”

11th December 2007 - Hawksworth stars in Germany.
The 2007 ICC UK pace setter had is first taste of racing some of Europe's finest drivers at the German Winter Cup in the KZ2 class last weekend. It was a big ask for the 16 year old to produce any kind of result in the company of drivers like Bas Lammers and Rick Dreezen but Jack showed his speed and race craft and took the fight to some of the Worlds best drivers.

German Winter Cup Kerpen 2007 The Winter Cup took place at Kerpen the same circuit Michael Schumacher's story began. Jack was the surprise of the race and was the quickest in morning practice before qualifying 2nd in the rain. The track dried up and Jack demonstrated why he will be a contender for European honours in 2008 by taking a fantastic 4th place overall.

“It was a great event and it was great to race against some of Europe’s top drivers and I learnt a lot from the experience. The result was excellent and it has a set a good foundation for the 2008 season where I will race with the PDB Racing team in the European Championship and WSK Championship. I will work hard on my fitness over the winter and continue to build the relationship with PDB and Gillard. I am looking forward to a successful 2008 season and a lot of good racing. Thanks to everyone who has supported me this year and keep checking my website for regular news updates.”

27th November 2007 - Jack tests in Holland and Belgium with PDB Racing.
Jack has recently completed a weekend testing with PDB Racing in the KZ2 category. The first day was spent at the Genk circuit in dry conditions this meant that it was a great day for trying new things on the chassis setup. The next day was spent at a track near Rotterdam in the Netherlands, unfortunately the weather wasn't going to be dry on this day and it continued to rain all day. Jack struggled in the morning with a hard compound tyre but once the tyres were changed half way through the day Jack managed to find a groove and set some quick times.

“I enjoyed the weekend it was good to get to know the team and drive on the sticky tyres abroad. It also gave me a rough insight in to what the competition will be like in the European championships next year. I think the Gillard chassis is good enough to win. It won’t be easy but with some winter testing I don’t see any reason why I won’t be fighting for victory’s in the championship next year.

My next race is the second round of the KF1 Winter Series at Shenington. We finished 6th in the first round after being plagued with engine issues but I think we will have a trouble free weekend which should allow me to fight for the win.”

31st October 2007 - Hawksworth and Co complete season comeback with gritty performance at Fulbeck
7 Months ago Jack Hawksworth lied 43rd in the ICC UK championship after the opening round with 0 points and a mountain to climb. Now he has just finished off his 2007 ICC UK championship by finishing runner up in the championship standings to wrap up a stunning fight back. The 16 year old over came a troubled last round to claim the Vice champion spot after charging up the grid from 10th to 4th by the end.

“It has been a rollercoaster ride! The season started off so badly and to have come back to 2nd place feels great. I would like to thank Tim Gillard for producing an awesome chassis, Andy Fairless Racing for their superb engines, my Dad for mechanicing and supporting me and thanks to Ian Thompson who also helped out at a few of the latter rounds. Hopefully with the experience I’ve gained this year I will be able to go 1 better next year.” Jack Hawksworth

    10th October 2007 - Jack's weekly newsletter now available
Jack Hawksworth KF1 and ICC star Jack Hawksworth has decided to bring out a weekly newsletter to keep everyone who is supporting him and the big names in Motorsport updated on his current racing activity’s.

With the 2007 season drawing to a close Jack is gearing up for his biggest year yet as he will compete in the KF1 British Championship, ICC UK Championship, KZ2 European Championship and KZ2 WSK Championship. “I believe it is as important to keep pushing hard to publicise myself off the circuit, as it is to push my hardest on the circuit. In modern Motorsport PR is essential to attract sponsors and go racing so I’m hoping this will help on this side of things. I have had a lot of bad luck and misfortune this year but I’m still lying 2nd in the ICC British championship on dropped rounds. I think this says a lot about my character when you consider that we didn’t finish any races at the first round at Shenington! This was always going to be a learning year as I have been racing some drivers who are 5 – 10 years older than me. I now have a full year of ICC experience behind me and have learnt a lot off some of the UK’s best drivers. I intend to put this into good use next year and claim a few titles. Along with my effort on the track I will strive to improve my website and PR work along with Russell Atkins from Crash net”

Jack will next be in action at the P.F.I circuit testing KF1 on the 12th and 13th of October. Jack will next be in ICC action on the 27th of October at Fulbeck for the final round of the British championship. The following weekend he will kick off his KF1 Winter series campaign at P.F.I.

If you want to subscribe to Jack’s newsletter drop him an email at hawksworth4@hotmail.com with your address.

1st August 2007 - Hawksworth to contest Super Libre Kart Masters and Rotax Max British open championship
Jack Hawksworth to contest Super Libre Kart Masters and Rotax Max British open championship 2006 Junior Max European champion and current leader of the 2007 Super ICC British championship Jack Hawksworth has announced that he will compete in the Rotax Max British Open championship on August 10/11/12 and the Super Libre Kart Masters on August 15/16/17. The 16 year old will be competing in round’s 6 and 7 of the Super ICC British Championship in Belgium this weekend but plans to swap his Gillard/TM Machine for a Gillard Rotax Max kart prepared by Protrain Racing the team that Jack won the 2006 Junior Max European title with. Jack will run under the Protrain Racing Banner throughout the 0 plate weekend and hope that his return to Rotax Max racing will bring him even more 2007 success. Jack is not planning a full time move back into Rotax Max racing. The following weekend Jack will change classes again as he bids to challenge for the 2007 Super Libre Grand Prix title. Jack will take part in this event as part of the Wright Kart Racing team run by Simon Wright.

“I'm really looking forward to taking part in the 2007 Rotax Max British Open championship at Whilton Mill. It will be great to work with the guys from Protrain again and hopefully we will be able to add another title on top of our 2006 success together. It will be a hard event as I have never driven a Senior Max kart before but I’m sure that I will be able to adapt with plenty of testing available. I’m confident with Protrain racing’s technical expertise and my 2007 Super ICC experience we will be able to mount a serious challenge for the title. Looking further forward towards the Super Libre event I’m really looking forward to the challenge of racing some of the worlds best direct drive kart racers. It will also be interesting to race a lot of drivers who I raced last year. I’m sure that Simon Wright will be able to do a good job with my engines and hopefully I will be able to back this up with some good technical feedback and a good result. I have no previous experience with this class but hopefully I will be able to adapt throughout Friday practice and by Sunday mount a strong challenge for the win. After racing in the ICC class this year where the racing is close, frantic and tough I am hoping I will be able to use this experience to my advantage.”

It's certainly going to be a challenging few weeks for the British ace driving 2 different classes in 2 different weeks but for now he is focused on extending his championship lead in the Super ICC class at Genk in Belgium.

24th July 2007 - New photo gallery added from Rissington 2007
Just trying to keep my web site upto date and added a new photo gallery today from the Super 4 British ICC Championship at Rissington in May this year. Click here to view the new gallery.

5th June 2007 - Hawksworth – “Larkhall and Dunkeswell crucial in championship outcomes”
Britains Jack Hawksworth believes that the next 2 races in the Super ICC and ICC British championships will make or break his season. The 16 year old has started to hit top form as the season enters its middle phase of the championship. It couldn't have come sooner as a troubled start to the season had left Jack struggling for points.

Jack currently lies 5th in the Super ICC championship despite the 3rd round at Shenington being cancelled after Jack had dominated the first two heats. 30 Points behind the championship leader Jack is in no mood to panic and believes the championship is well in grasp. “There is a long way to go yet but I know I have the best kit out there and feel better than ever. I see no reason why I cant win the next few races.” After a dismal first round of the ICC British championship when Jack was fired off on 3 occasions and scored 0 points Jack is lying near the foot of the championship table with dropped scores not being taken into account. But a strong showing at Rissington where Jack stuck it on the front row of the grid has pushed Jack into the top 5 with dropped scores taken into account and with 4 rounds left who'd bet against him taking both titles? He certainly believes he will.

25th February 2007 - Larkhall Test day Report
A week after racing at Shenington Hawksworth was back into testing at the challenging and technical circuit of Larkhall.

Jack racked up over 100 laps of the circuit. The day started off in wet conditions and gradually dried up until at the end of the laps Jack was using slick tyres but with only one dry line and damp patches it was had to gather data. Despite this Jack carried out tests on the new Stack data logging equipment before concentrating on chassis setup. Despite the damp conditions Jack was setting extremely competitive times and the chassis looked very well balanced and the Maxter motor sounded very crisp. Despite the conditions a lot of data was gathered and Jack is confident that the package is up to the job when the Stars of Tomorrow circus arrives at Larkhall for the 3rd round of the British champs in July.

1st February 2007 - Winter Testing the story so far…
In under two months Jack Hawksworth will make his British Super ICC debut and in under 3 months the young British star will head out to Italy to compete in his first European ICC Championship event. It may have been 3 months since Jack was last seen on the European stage driving in his final Junior Max outing at the Rotax Max World Finals in Portugal but it has been a busy winter for Hawksworth. A relentless testing program and vigorous fitness regime has made up Jacks winter in preparation for his biggest challenge yet. Jack has spent the last few months testing with the CRG chassis and Maxter engines as well as competing in 2 race meetings. Testing has gone very well so far with Jack covering laps at GYG, Three Sisters Race Circuit, Rowrah, Shenington and Langbar. Jack has consistently been fast and has praised the CRG chassis and Maxter engine claiming it to show more promise than any other package he has been on.

“I’m really starting to get used to the new equipment and everything seems to be falling into place and I can see something very special starting to come together. This overall package has the potential to do great things this year. Everyone involved has put an amazing amount of effort in over the past few months and I cant see any of our rivals having put as much time into this as us. Last year was a good year for me this year has the potential to be a superb year for me and the best is yet to come.” Jack Hawksworth

7th January 2007 - Hawksworth and CRG…… Here we come!
British ace Jack Hawksworth got his first taste of the new 2007 CRG chassis and Maxter engine this weekend at the Three sisters race circuit. Jack worked with HRS Motorsport throughout the weekend as they experimented with the equipment that Jack will be racing on in this years 2007 British and European Super ICC and ICC championships with the Danilo Rossi Racing Team. Jack was very confident about the kit and stated that he believed he had the equipment to launch a serious assault on the British and European championships. This is what he had to say… “After testing the new equipment I was very impressed with the overall package and I believe there is a lot of potential. I was very impressed with the brakes on the CRG, which I have to say were unbelievable and the out the box Maxter engine seemed very promising. I was also impressed with the way the team worked and thought everyone involved did a great job. I think the times we were posting were definatley very promising. The attitude of everybody involved is the same, we are here to mount a serious assault on both championships and although we know there is still some work to be done in testing we will be out to win every race and wont settle for anything else. The 2007 CRG chassis and Maxter engine is something special and I will be out to use this to my advantage and show everybody what I am really capable of."

27th December 2006 - A big thankyou to Protrain Racing
After making the decision to move into the Super ICC class for 2007 the Junior Max European champion Jack Hawksworth has left the Protrain Racing team due to his decision to move into Super ICC. Jack would like to thank Protrain for all there support during 2006 and says that non-of his success would have been possible with out them. “ I have had a great year with Protrain and have gained some great experience from such a knowledgeable team. Without their help my 2006 success wouldn’t have been possible and they were a key driving force behind my success. I have had some great times with the team and would like to wish them all the best in the future in which I am sure they will repeat there successes. They have played a key part im my career so far and I have learnt things from Gary Chapman (Protrain Racing boss) that I will use all the way through my career wherever that may lead to, thankyou.

23rd Nov 2006 - Hawksworth eyes assault on 2007 ICC European Champs
British ace Jack Hawksworth has finally finished his junior career after a successful campaign which ended with 2nd in the 2006 Rotax Max World Finals and a European title only two months earlier. Jack has made the decision to race in the Super ICC and ICC classes in 2007 and has his mind set on two things, to learn quickly and to win. Jack has accepted that moving into the 6 speed gearbox class is going to be a big learning curve but stays adamant that with the right preparation and support he could well shock some of his future rivals and team bosses with some great results.

This is what Jack had, to say, “Its going to be hard to get used to the new driving style and the set-up of the chassis and engines but it certainly wont be impossible. I have the confidence in myself to be able to get it together before the start of the season, which begins in March. Many will say 2007 is going to be a learning year for me and my chances of winning anything will be over before we have even turned a corner. But I remain confident that with the right preparation, the right team and if I keep working on my physical fitness at the gym then I can definatley be in the reckoning when the flag drops. I will go into 2007 with hopes of finishing 1st in every race and championship I’m in. I’m there to win and ill try to do everything I can to make sure it happens.”

Although many might bet against Jack in 2007, nobody would have given him a chance of being as successful as he has been 2 years ago so once again he will go into the season as an underdog but will certainly be out to make his mark. Jack is still undecided on which chassis and team he will run on and with in 2007 but as soon as it is finalised it will be posted on this website. If you would like to help and support Jack in 2007 then feel free to contact him on 01535 273191 or email: Jack Hawksworth

24th Oct 2006 - Hawksworth to race ICC in 2007
After a stunning Junior career Jack has decided to take the decision to race in the Super ICC and ICC classes in 2007. Both classes are 125cc and have a 6 speed gearbox, well capable of speeds up to 130mph on long circuits. Jack his hoping to contest the 2007 BRDC Stars of tomorrow series in Super ICC and the 2007 FIA/CIK European Championship for ICC. The class has a reputation for being the most demanding class in karting and is ultra competitive and very physical. Jack has already started to up his fitness training in preparation for the 2007 season and will begin a testing program in the class as soon as he has returned from the Junior Max World Finals. Jack will have his first taste of the class this weekend at Three Sisters where he will have his first drive in an ICC courtesy of Neil Walker of Walker Racing and Michael Groves.
4th Sept 2006 - Big Month for Hawksworth
With the season beginning to draw to a close Jack now has 3 remaining big dates on his calendar left. In 2 weeks time Jack will be at Three Sisters Race Circuit near Wigan. Where he will take on the best in the country in the penultimate round of the British Championship as he attempts to shorten the 10-point advantage that championship leader Mitchell Bayer-Goldman has over him in the British Championship with dropped rounds taken in to account. Then it will be over seas to Genk in Belgium for the final round of the Rotax Mojo European Championship in which Jack looks to defend his 9 point’s advantage over his nearest rival Niek Vos with dropped rounds taken into account and clinch the championship. Then it will be back to the UK where he will battle it out in the final round of the British Championship at Buckmore Park where he will hope to take the fight for the title right to the wire. Then after all of that, providing Jack finishes in the top 3 of the Europeans, Jack will venture to Portugal in November where he will hope to wrap up the season with a bang. As he takes on the best drivers from around the world in the Rotax Max World Finals.
    4th July 2006 - The 2006 season so far
The first six months of the 2006 season has certainly been a roller coaster ride of ups and downs for Jack. Click here for a review of the season so far.
    24th May 2006 - Disappointment in Garda
Britains Jack Hawksworth's chances of winning the 2nd round of the Rotax Max Europeans were dashed after an incident on the warm up lap involving the Austrian driver Daniel Shellnegger ruled Jack out of contention. Jack had already won the Pre- final by just under 2 seconds and was confident going into the final but as the karts swept round on the warm up lap the Austrian who is known for his erratic driving style, missed his braking point and drove over Jacks exhaust ruling him out of contention before the race had started.

"I?m obviously very disappointed with what happened in the final as we had looked strong all weekend and were definitely in contention for the win. I?m still shocked that a driver who drives and races as much as him can make such a simple error and spoil his own chances as well as others. On the other hand the chassis was great and the engines were great and I would like to thank the Protrain Racing team and Steve Ogden for helping me with the kart set-up and supplying some brilliant engines."

    23rd April 2006 - Podium at Super 1
The cancellation of Super 1 at Clay in March was a real bonus for me as I was already racing in Europe and couldn't make the first round of Super 1. Last weekends meeting in Lydd was effectively the first round and to come out with a second overall was an excellent result. This means I am currently lying 3rd in both the British and European championships and looking forward to the first round of Stars.
    18th April 2006 - Jack claims 3rd at 'O' Plate
    At last weekends Brit
