PF International, - 5th March 2006
Heat 1 - Jack had to start at the back of the grid in all his heats due to a
late entry which was obviously going to make it hard. So starting way back on P24 Jack made a good start and quickly started making his way through the pack. By the lap 5 Jack was in 15th and making good progress and was up to 11th by the last lap just behind Liam Fenwick but Jack just managed to sneak up the inside of Fenwick round the complex and grab 10th place by the finish.
Heat 2 - Once again Jack was at the back of the grid but this time got an
unbelievable start and found himself in 9th after the first corner. Jack was quickly up to 5th and closing down the leading 4.
By lap 5 Jack was there and quickly passed Curt Holmes and William Smith.
Going into the last lap Jack was now in 2nd and just behind number 87 Don De Graff. Down the main Straight Jack managed to use
the slip stream to sneak past into the lead and hold on to 1st till the
finish.
Final - After 2 great heats from starting last Jack had managed to secure
8th on the grid for the final. But this time things didn’t go to plan as Jack found himself on the grass after the first hairpin dropping right back down to
24th position. Jack quickly started moving his way back up through the field
making pass after pass as he made his way back up into the top 10 but as the karts came round the final bend a bit of contact between Matty Tipping and Devol Modell caused carnage with Jack just touching the back of Tippings kart which was enough to put him onto the grass.
Jack managed to get the 2nd fastest lap in the final and was happy with the
engine and chassis. Although the weekend was hampered by 2 crashes in the final Jack feels happy with the set-up at the track which will host the 4th round
of the British championship in July.
