Heat 1 – Grid 19 for the first heat of the weekend and Jack didn’t make an impression on the race from the start and didn’t seem to make much progress. After some contact with Daryl Henderson lap 4 Jack was left to drive a lonely race eventually finishing a disappointing 11th not the start Jack was hoping for. David Sutton took the race win with Henderson taking the fastest lap of the race a mere 1 thousandth of a second quick than Jack.
Heat 2 – Starting on P9 for the second heat and Jack had a close escape at the start as he took to the grass to avoid number 91 Ayrton Hirst. But by the end of lap 1 Jack was in 6th and it was now game on as the karts screamed past for another lap. By lap 4 Jack was up to 3rd behind Daniel Lloyd and James Griffith. Jack and Lloyd quickly started to real in the leader and by lap 8 they were both past. Going into the last lap of the race Lloyd still held the race lead but with Jack very close behind. Lloyd had done a very good job of defending but as they came into sunny bend for the final time Jack managed to snatch the lead from Lloyd to take a well-deserved 1st place.
Heat 3 – Jack was on grid 3 for the final heat of the day and immediately made his presence felt as he nipped past number 16 Daniel Payne to take the lead at the end of lap one. The top 6 had now broken away from the rest of the pack and positions were changing every lap at the front. But as they went into the last 3 laps of the race Rob Foster Jones nipped up the inside of Jack to take the lead with Daniel Lloyd also squeezing through and with no where to go Jack hit the exit curb and dropped a chain ending what could have been a good set of heats. Devon Modell took the race win with David Sutton taking the fastest lap of the race at a 48:71.
Final – After a terrible third heat Jack had to settle for 10th on the gird for the final. But a fired up Jack Hawksworth immediately started cutting through the field and by lap 2 he was up to 6th. The chassis and engine were working well and Jack was the fastest man on the track for the first half of the race as he quickly made his way up to 3rd in pursuit of 2nd place man Rob Foster-Jones. By lap 10 Jack made his move for 2nd but didn’t have enough to catch the leader David Sutton who also set the fastest lap of the race at a 48:59.
That’s how it finished with Dave Sutton 1st, Hawksworth 2nd, Foster-Jones 3rd, Lloyd 4th, Modell 5th and Josh Fielding rounding out top 6 in 6th.
