Warden Law 19th February 2006
Heat1 - 17 karts lined up on the grid with jack starting 8th on the grid for the first heat of the day. Jack made a decent start and was up 2 places after the first lap and then managed to get up into 3rd by the end of the 5th lap. He couldn’t make an impression on the 2nd place man David Sutton though and instead had to defend heavily to hold off Gemma Stephenson, just managing to keep 3rd place by the end of the race.
Heat2 - Pole for the second heat and Jack made a good start and held first place for the first lap but handling problems meant he slowly but surely he slipped down the field. Eventually finishing a disappointing 6th.
Heat3 - 16th on the grid for the final heat of the day and their was mayhem at the start of the race with karts spinning on to the grass left right and centre meaning. Jack had to take to the grass to avoid the carnage meaning he lost a lot of time on the leaders. Jack managed to finish 9th but was still suffering with handling problems.
Pre Final - After some average heats Jack qualified 4th on the grid for the Pre Final. Jack made a poor start dropping back to 6th after the first lap. But with the karts handling problems now solved Jack quickly made his way up to 3rd and started to chase down Stephenson by the end of the race Jack had just about caught Stephenson but had to settle for 3rd on the grid for the final. Jack also claimed the fastest lap by over 2 tenths of a second.
Final - 3rd on the Grid for the final and Jack made a shocking start dropping down to 5th by the end of the first lap. Jack managed to battle his way back up to 2nd and started to chase down the leader David Sutton but there weren’t enough laps left and Jack had to settle for 2nd just in front of Daniel Lloyd who claimed the fastest lap of the race at 52:87 seconds. After the race Jack was given a 3 place penalty for an incident with Lee Crawford, the punishment was very harsh but Jack now looks forward to the 3rd round of the British Championship at this circuit in May.
