The year got off to a disappointing start as he could only finish 6th in the opening round of the Euro Max challenge after a collision with another driver sent him back to 18th in the early stages of the race.
Next up was the British Open championship where Jack finished 3rd after an amazing scrap for the lead with Jack Whelan, Daniel Payne and Greg Harper.
Then Jack claimed 2nd at the opening round of the British Super1 championship at Lydd as his season started to get into full swing.
After a very successful opener in the Super 1 series it was back to Rowrah for the first round of the BRDC stars of Tomorrow meeting where Jack had a controversial weekend finishing 2nd in the first round and then 5th in the second round after problems with the kart.
Next up was the second round of the Euro Max challenge in Garda Italy. Where Jack comfortably won the Pre-Final and looked odds on to score his first international win before he was ruled out of contention when Austrian driver Daniel Shellnegger hit Jacks exhaust on the warming up lap forcing Jack into retirement. He claims this is his lowest point in the season so far.
At the second round of the British Super1 championship at Warden Law Jack struggled with problems all weekend and ended up finishing a disastrous 13th.
Jack’s season had really taken a turn for the worst and as he went in to rounds 3 and 4 of the Stars of Tomorrow championship he hoped to turn the tables. Jack had two solid 2nd places leading the first round up until the very last lap. Then came Silverstone where Jack struggled with pace all weekend and in the first round crashed out after he misjudged one of the chicanes. In the 2nd round at Silverstone a solid 2nd place and good heats ensured he retained his position of 2nd overall in the Stars Championship.
So after six months of hard competition Jack is still chasing his first national win which must surely come soon after a string of 2nd places.
Although his championship hopes took a knock in May and June Jack still thinks that he can get his championship aspirations back on track and bring home some championship Silverware at the end of the year.
There is still a long way to go and anything is possible…
